Term 4, Week 6 2024
Hello friends,
It has been wonderful to see our Reception and Yr. 1 classes enjoy their swimming week activities during the course of this week and watching them walk out of the office and back through the office each day with big smiles on their face has been wonderful to see.

Principal
During the closing weeks of our year we have seen our student share with us many ways to serve.
We began the final weeks by commemorated the anniversary of Remembrance Day with the whole community stopping for prayer and a minutes silence. The students led the service and had the rest of the student body follow in their solemn actions.
Our Year 6 students attended their last Leadership Day of the year- Journey to Emmaus listening to inspirational speakers who had found a way to be the ‘Face of Jesus’ through their actions and careers. The speakers so moved the students that they came to me in the days after requesting a way to put into action what they had heard.
With a little guidance they planned and organised a Christmas Hamper drive. The drive launched this week is a collaboration between our senior students and our local chapter of Vinnies to pack Christmas Hampers for families in our area in need.
This week saw us celebrate our 65th Feast Day and we did so by travelling by train to our parish church of St Jospeh’s. The Men’s Shed cooked a BBQ for us all and then served each child. The day whilst exciting also had service on show. Father Michael led the children through sharing God’s kingdom, and we had 2 Year 5 students as Altar Servers. Saheli and Olivia are new to the role but were wonderful examples of service. All students who complete their Sacraments of initiation are invited to join in the training programme to become Altar Servers and become visible signs of service to all.
GIVING TREE
I’ve spoken with our local chapter of Vinnies and they said that their greatest needs for the families in our area are primary school age childrens’ gifts and books. The giving Tree invites 1 gift per family to be placed under the tree on the day of the Christmas Party.
FEAST DAY
This year we commemorated our 65th Feast Day with mass at our Parish Church- St Joseph Brighton- November 21st. We travelled to Brighton by train, attended mass and shared a Sausage Sizzle provided by the parish and our local Mens’ Shed. We thank all those who made the day a special event.
ST JOSEPH’S CHRISTMAS CAROLS EVENING
Our parish will be holding a Christmas Carol’s evening on 1st December 6-8pm. Please see the included flier with more information.
