Term 3, Week 4 2024
Hello Friends
Hasn’t it been wonderful to see some warm weather over the last couple of days albeit it, intermittent. The first signs of spring are certainly amongst us.
Playground Works
I am excited to advise that the playground construction works are well underway and there is progress being made on a daily basis. The timeline for completion looks to be approximately three weeks away. We are hoping for favourable weather to allow the project to be completed on time. It has been wonderful to see the students standing and sitting around the temporary fencing at recess and lunchtime watching the works go ahead with smiles on their faces.
Board Talk
And our last School Board meeting which was held on Wednesday 7 August, the final prototypes for uniforms were discussed. These are currently on display in the office area and once we have had final discussions with our uniform supplier we will place these in the courtyard to let families know what our uniform will look like. I will keep you informed as to the date of availability of when our new uniforms will be available in stock. This is an exciting development for our school.
Sporting Successes
Christ the King School has achieved some great sporting successes over the last couple of weeks.
We had our Yr 3 to 6 students compete in the SACPSSA Cross Country carnival last week and many of our students finished in the top 10 of their races. They raced across a 2.3 km track at the Adelaide parklands. A mighty well done to all our competitors in this carnival.
Our Yr 6 students also competed in the SAPSASA basketball competition last week and both of our teams achieved success. The Girls team has qualified to return to the finals of the SAPSASA competition in October this year. Well done to all of our basketball players representing our school so well.
Quiz Night
Our Parents and Friends Quiz Night is fast approaching and happens on 24 August. There are still tickets available, so make the most of this opportunity. There are some great prizes on offer and the night is always so much fun. Looking forward to seeing you there.

As part of Book Week we celebrate the greatest book ever written- THE BIBLE. We prayer and give thanks for the guiding words we find within and share its many wonderful stories. (Everyone is invited to attend our service Thursday morning 9am, in the hall). Each class has their own hardcover Bible and their teacher and students refer to it for stories and to support learning topics.
Some of our favourite stories are:
- Birth of Jesus
- Zacchaeus
- Prodigal Son
- Mustard Seed
- Last Supper
- Jesus feeds the 5 000
- Garden of Gethsemane
- Wedding at Cana
- Greatest Commandment
- Ascension of our Lord
- Calling the Apostles.
Many of us have a Family/Children’s Bible in our home. I invite you to share a story with your children this week to highlight the importance of the Bible as a book during this big week of books and a guide to our world.
WAYS TO PRAY- A SERIES
Pray the Word
For every need, prayer or question there is a scripture that will give you the words. Doing a search for a keyword in the Bible with give many possible passages. Reading the passage over many times may help provide answers or guidance and lead to prayer.
