School Reports for Term 3
As you may be aware, CTK has been using a system named SEQTA as our Information Management System for a number of years now, as has all Catholic School in SA. Information such as contact details, class information is all accessed by the school via SEQTA. Catholic Ed SA has now made the decision that our school reports (at the end of Terms 2 and 4) will also be produced using SEQTA. For all intents and purposes, the same information will be provided to parents via this new reporting format as has been the case in previous years at our school. Grades, dispositions and a comment outlining your child’s progress in general areas as well as Mathematics, Literacy and Religious Education will still be available. These reports will also be supplemented by a conversation between parents and teachers regarding student progress. Times for the parent teacher conversations were sent out earlier this week and I encourage you to make a time to see your child’s class teacher regarding their academic progress at school. Later this term an example of the report template will be sent home to families as a hardcopy, so families are able to see what the report will look like in its physical form.
Uniforms
I ask for your assistance and cooperation in making sure that your child comes to school dressed in the correct uniform each day. In particular, making sure that black shoes are worn with the school uniform and predominantly white shoes are worn with the sports uniform. Please avoid socks with frills or wearing tracksuit pants under the school uniform. I do totally understand that from time to time school uniform items are not dry or have not had an opportunity to be washed or your child has grown out of their school uniform and you haven’t had a chance to purchase the new items, and therefore a note to your child’s class teacher letting them know why your child may not be dressed in the correct uniform is always greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support in this area.
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Thanks and Blessings

This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. For many of us it evokes the colour red and a story about flames and wind. I would like to share with you the 3 most important point about the feast from the ‘Building Faith’ website..
It Is the ‘Birth Day’ of the Church
Pentecost was a turning point. Before that moment, the apostles were a group of followers who had listened to Jesus and assisted in his ministry. But without Jesus, they were aimless and confused. That all changed on Pentecost. After the Holy Spirit entered the room, the apostles no longer looked inward. Filled with the Holy Spirit – the spirit of Jesus – they looked out and forward as ministers.
The end of Acts 2 records how the apostles devoted themselves to teaching and to fellowship; to performing wonders and signs; and giving to others in need. It is no wonder that the Lord “added to their number daily those who were saved”! The Holy Spirit gave the apostles direction and power to form the Christian community, which would become the Church. It is in this sense that Pentecost can be called a birth day.
Pentecost Showcases the Trinity
Christian theology is grounded in a doctrine of three in one, the Holy Trinity: often described as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Pentecost was a big Trinity moment! The Father sends the Spirit to make the Son present. On Pentecost we can teach and celebrate the Trinity.
Jesus Kept His Promise
In Matthew 28:20 Jesus told his followers, “I will be with you always, even until the end of the age.” He promptly ascended into heaven, and his followers could no longer see him. What gives? Well, in John 15:26 Jesus promised, “I will send you the Advocate – the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me”. When the Holy Spirit moves, Jesus is present through that Holy Spirit. So it is that Pentecost marks the fulfillment of Christ’s promise.
Next week (3rd June), Fr Prathap and the Yr3 class will lead us in a whole school mass celebrating the birth of our church – The Feast of Pentecost’
COMMISSIONING MASS- SUNDAY 28TH
On Sunday the parish will commission our staff during the 10am Pentecost Mass. All families are invited to attend. If any family is intending to come along I would love to hear from you and invite you to be involved in the Offertory Procession. Please contact me via email before Friday.

The book fair also provides students with the opportunity to look at budgeting and decision making. Payments can be made in cash and via EFTPOS. All profits from the fair are returned in book purchase for our library.
The bookfair opens each morning 8.30 until the bell and from 3.00-3.30pm.
