We also celebrated the School Colour Run on 1 November. It was simply amazing to see the energy and enthusiasm of the students as they completed the obstacle course whilst transforming from white T-shirts into multicoloured patterns of delight. I take this opportunity to thank our school community members for the overwhelming support of the colour run and funds raised for our school. Also my sincere thanks to the amazing Parents and Friends who put our Colour Run together. My grateful thanks also to our volunteers who on the night helped run the activities the sausage sizzle sales and our wonderful behind-the-scenes chefs who cooked and prepared all the food for us. A fantastic achievement by everyone concerned.
Our prize winners will be announced on Friday 8 November in the courtyard at 8.50am.
There are many more exciting things to look forward to this term with our Reception/ Year 1 swimming week coming up, Christmas Carols evening, Giving Tree and of course the Parents and Friends Christmas party. Details to follow for all of these events. We also look forward to celebrating the graduating class of 2024 at the Thanksgiving and Graduation mass on 10 December 6:30pm.
Staffing News
Di Cook - our fantastic front office ESO’s last day will be Friday 15 November. Di has taken a position with her local Tailem Bend Community, so it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to her and thank her for her wonderful contributions to the school community over the past year. We wish you all the very best, Di.
I will let our school community know who will be filling this role as soon as this information comes to hand.
New Uniform
Our new uniform is on track to be available over the next few days. Our uniform shop will be open from 8.30am – 11.30am – Friday 15th November. Please note that parents need to be present for the trying on of uniforms so accurate sizing can occur.
Double Gates on Walkey Terrace
I ask for your assistance in not parking across the driveway adjacent the double gates on Walkley Terrace. Is important access to these gates remains, in case of the need for emergency vehicle access to the school. Thank you for your cooperation in this area.

Next Monday we will gather as a community to commemorate Remembrance Day. We will gather at 10.45 and share readings and prayers ready for a minutes silence at 11am.
During the service we recite the Ode:
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
Response:
We will remember them
Lest we forget
Students and staff will wear poppies and lay class wreaths. All members of the community are invited to join us, wear poppies and/or lay their own wreath at the base of the cross.

Reception Class Visit to the City – Theatre Excursion
Our Reception students recently enjoyed an exciting trip to the city to watch a live performance at the theatre! The children were filled with excitement as they boarded the train and embarked on their adventure. Upon arrival, the students enjoyed lunch in a nearby park by the river. The students were then captivated by the lively production, with its costumes, facts and talented performers. The performance sparked their imaginations and gave them a wonderful introduction to the world of live theatre. On the train ride home students shared their favourite moments from the show. It was a fantastic day of learning and fun, and we’re sure it will be a lasting memory for the children!
This term, our Year 3 students have kicked off with a fantastic focus on math, exploring concepts through hands-on, engaging activities. From building their own 3D Shape Cities to designing Fraction Pizzas, our students are learning in creative and memorable ways!
In the 3D Shape City project, students crafted cities using different 3D shapes, arranging buildings, roads, and parks. By using cones, cubes, cylinders, and more, they gained a real-world understanding of how these shapes make up our surroundings. This activity has been a great way for students to see how math connects with the world around them.
Last week, our Year 3s dove into fractions with Fraction Pizzas. Each student created their own paper plate pizza, choosing toppings to represent different fractions. For example, they covered half the pizza with one topping, one-quarter with another, and one-eighth with a third. This tasty exercise helped students visualize and understand fractions in a deliciously fun way.
Students have all enjoyed being incredibly creative and working collaboratively. I look forward to a term filled with even more creative math adventures!
Last week the Year 5 students headed off to Mylor for an Adventure Camp. The students got to challenge themselves through a variety of activities including tackling a “very muddy and wet obstacle course” (lots of fun!!), learning archery (sometimes hitting the target!!) and braving heights to swing on a giant rope swing. All the activities required a great deal of teamwork, and it was pleasing to see just how well the students supported each other in completing tasks and taking on challenges. For many of our students this was also their first overnight experience away from home.
On behalf of the Year 5 students, I would like to thank the terrific staff at Mylor Baptist Camp, Mrs Pascoe, Bryant, and Mr Perry for their support. I would also like to acknowledge each student on the way in which they represented their school and families. Exemplary behaviour and participation makes school trips memorable and fantastic learning opportunities.
